Our Daily Free Stream: Jason Reitman - Juno (german dubbed). Hier kommt Juno alias Ellen Page - Everybody's Darling!

"Juno" by Yojimbo

Juno is a sixteen year old high school girl who sleeps with her geeky boyfriend and winds up pregnant, so she decides to put her unborn child up for adoption. I'm sure there are plenty of film-makers out there who think making indie movies is easy; just a case of the emperor's new clothes. If you make it LOOK like it's being clever, people will just assume that it is. But the fact is, the indie film is one of the great bullshit detectors of the cinematic medium. There are no special effects, no car chases or action to hide behind. If the script is no good, the film will suck. Full stop. Juno has a script full of characters that feel like real people having real conversations, and even the most unsympathetic ones are shown to have qualities that you can understand or relate to. It's warm …

Juno review

A 16 years old highschool student Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) gets pregnant by her best friend Paulie Bleeker (Michael Cera). A frend of Juno, Leah (Olivia Thirlby), helps her find parents who adopt babies and was able to decide on a successful couple named Mark and Vanessa Loring (Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner). Her father Mac (J.K. Simmons) accompanies her to the couple and the straightforward stepmother Bren (Allison Janney) goes with her during the ultrasound. The screenplay, direction and acting were superb. The only qualms I had were character development particularly Vanessa, who we don’t know her background or actual work is. Another is the situation when you have an eccentric pregnant kid visiting a married man, which doesn’t adds up since she already made her first …

Juno review

I was not expecting such a great movie from the few opening scenes. It takes a little time for the movie to get all of it's longer term plans into action. It didn't start off bad at all though, it was just opening up to be like one of those many screwball comedy's out there. As the movie goes on, you start to realize that it is so much more than your average comedy. Many people have called this movie this year's Little Miss Sunshine or Sideways, but Juno tops even those great movies.

Juno tackles the subject of teen pregnancy. Ellen Page is Juno MacGuff. She is a sixteen year old girl who decides to sleep with her best friend Paulie( Michael Cera). Of course, she gets pregnant. She may seem wise beyond her years, but she starts to realize how little she actually knows about life. She …

Teen pregnancy sucks

This movie was phenomenal. It is Michael Cera's best film yet as Juno's baby's Father Paulie Bleeker. This is also Ellen Page's breakthrough moment. She earned an Oscar nomination at 20 for this role and I think that is incredible. Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner have above average performance as Mark and Vanessa Long the couple that is signed on too adopt Juno's baby. The screenplay is well written seeing as though it won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. As the story of a 16 year old mother who is dealing with having to put her baby up for adoption this film is good at drawing emotion from the audience. The Soundtrack is one of the best ever from my personal point of view and the story never loses its value or meaning. Go rent this film please.

Juno is a delightful film that tackles a pretty tough subject with just the right outcome. Juno is Funny, Sharp, Touching and Fresh. From it's solid direction, Odd but Unique screenplay and Bright and Honest acting make for an outstanding movie. Jason Reitman is becoming a wonderful director with a keen eye for detail, his direction is worthy admiring. Diablo Cody's screenplay is Unique and also a little Odd (in a good way), but good. But the performances are where the main focus should be, the film was cast to perfection. Ellen Page is Incredible as the title character, Her funny and quirky performance is what makes the film so great, this is her star making performance for sure. The supporting cast is outstanding as well especially J.K. Simmons and Jennifer Garner. The Score is …

"Jou Know" you're in for a good flick

There is a certain awkwardness inspired by the title character of director Jason Reitman's latest homespun comedy that has never quite been captured as perfectly in films until now. She may seem like a character, but by the end of the film, you will feel you have known her all your life.

Juno McGuff (Ellen Page) is a teenager who doesn't quite know what kind of a girl she is, indeed, yet (as most teenagers do) she tries to act more mature than her age while at the same time understanding more than most her age. Juno is a comedy about an unscheduled pregnancy and the hard, fast decisions the young mother must make to move on with her life. She has the kind of understanding, realistic parents (JK Simmons and Allison Janney) that are all but extinct in comedies of this nature, a …

Okay, so I'm completely obsessed with this movie. But for a good reason. This movie has everything- comedy (clever, unpredictable comedy- lines you will most likely be quoting for some time after seeing the movie), drama and romance. You will be totally engrossed in this film from beginning to end- there is not a dull moment in this movie. Juno MacGuff, played perfectly by Ellen Page, who recieved a well deserved Best Actress Oscar nod for the role, is a 16 year old girl, who out of boredom, one day, decides to have sex with her best guy friend, Paulie Bleeker (also perfectly played- by Michael Cera), and after "ten tons of Sunny D and three pregnancy tests" she discovers she is pregnant. She, at first, decides to get an abortion, which she then decides not to go through with, and then …

Great Funny Heartfelt Movie

Taz - wrote on 06/02/2008

All I can say about this movie is funny! From start to finish this movie is full of laughs. I wasn't sure what I was getting into with this movie when I rented it. I had heard form some reputable people that it was a great movie and that the girl in it was pregnant. I wasn't sure how this was going to be funny but it delivered! For me Juno's Dad played by J.K. Simmons stole the show. He had some one liners that had me in tears plus a great heartfelt but still funny line towards the end. In the end this movie is about love, I don't know how in love you can be in high school but this movie was so well done I didn't care about that by the end. Since this movie is no longer in theaters I can't tell you to go see it in theaters so go rent it as soon as you can.

Light, Fresh and Real all in one serving

Watching this movie called Juno was like having a good day. Everything was great, from the script to the story and most definitely the lead actress. Its subtleness is probably what made this film stand out. I just saw it the second time and I can't explain why it still worked for me. Usually when I see something I've seen before I easily get tired of it. But this one is probably made of a different ingredient. The realness of Ellen Page is a delight to see, actress like her is a rare commodity nowadays. Having an ensemble cast is also another thing that made everything so right. Everyone did their part and just played good music together. Music that is so soft and heart warming it touches you the way you wanted to be touch. Overall if you want to see a feel good type of movie then this …
