Jeremy Irons as Mr. Kafka, he gets involved with an underground group after one of his co-workers was murdered. Acting was top notch with Irons on board and screenplay superb. A few great lines: Dr. Murnau - "The purpose of the individual is always in question." and Kafka - "In my experience the truth is not... that convenient." Overall, the pace, soundtrack and direction was dull. It proves that Soderbergh is a miss or hit during the early stages of his career. Kafka is worth a look for those interested about Kafka's story or the directors techniques.

1991 mystery thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh. Ostensibly a biopic, based on the life of Franz Kafka, the film blurs the lines between fact and Kafka's fiction (most notably The Castle and The Trial), creating a Kafkaesque atmosphere. It was written by Lem Dobbs, and stars Jeremy Irons in the title role, with Theresa Russell, Ian Holm, Jeroen Krabbé, Joel Grey, Jim McPhee, Armin Mueller-Stahl, and Alec Guinness.A cult movie to rewatch.
