Some of the juxtaposition of modern elements with medieval action is silly fun, but a lot of the film is mediocre. The characters never rise above thin caricatures and some of the dialogue and attempts at modernity are almost too cheesy.

Average to it's core. Nothing very memorable, but nothing bad either.

Watching this and Karate Kid together is an interesting pairing of 80s and 90s music underdog movies. This movie has so much character, it is easy to overlook the weaker points. And the scene where he follows his footsteps home...very good. Of course, I'd be remiss not to point out how this movie really proves how much onscreen charisma Heath Ledger had.

A fantastic movie, I don't care what the majority says. It is funny, interesting, and Heath Ledger is lovable, as always.

I loved this movie. At first I was a little confused as to why they mixed in the modern with the medival, but then I just ended up loving it. I thought the Scribe was hilarious. I loved Lady Jocelyn's hair and wardrobe. I thought this was a great movie. Apparently, a lot og people don't feel the same way. That's okay. This was just fun and exciting. It had me cracking up at some points and kept my attention all the way through. I think with the right actors something like this could be pulled off well. However, it shouldn't be attempted unless you have the RIGHT actors.

People who don't like this film because of the modernity of it just sometimes need to lighten up and learn to have fun at the movies. This is one of those films that by every definition sucks, but is still great entertainment. Sure, the Princess has streaks of fuschia in her hair and the peasants chant Queen ballads, but all in all, the movie kept my attention and held true to its own beliefs of twisting the truth to have fun. Brian Helgeland shouldn't direct ever again, but this was a movie worth watching.

I loved this flick! Yes, it's kind of corny but Ledger's character (William Thatcher) is so lovable and endearing I can't help rooting for him. His group of men are so funny. I loved how they included modern references throughout the movie and I loved that Geoffrey Chaucer was William's herald. Keep in mind that it's a lighthearted comedy, not an accurate portrayal of the actual life of a knight. It's fun and funny and includes a great bad guy some romance.

While the film itself has decent action and plot, I cannot forgive including modern music in a medieval setting. I don't care what the director was trying to convey, it doesn't work for me and ruins every scene in which it is used.
