Horribly depressing movie. It is really just a torture film with no suspense or thrill at all. I kept asking myself, "Why am I watching this?" It was thoroughly tasteless, there was no point to it and the "justice" that is supposedly served to the criminal scum is very much lacking (i.e. they deserved worse.) This movie is just awful all around, and I strongly urge everyone to avoid it.

King of tasteless exploitation Wes Craven's most unpleasant piece of trash and that's up against some very stiff competition. Grotesque, sleazy and nauseating.

Completely unflinching first film, from director Craven. This is about as realistic and uncomfortable as horror gets. Dirty, disturbing and downright cruel.
