Its avant-garde assemblage sometimes works in this gritty thriller's favor and sometimes it doesn't. But that imperfection is what makes "The Limey" unique, and one of the most boundry pushing movies of its kind since Paul Schrader first climbed into the director's chair.

I give credit to Soderbergh for shooting a straight-forward crime thriller that unfolds with simplicity and realism. The problem is - that often makes the film boring as there isn't enough build up to any of the climactic action or drama scenes. Terrence Stamp gives a strong performance as a vengeful father, however.
