"Little Children" fills your mind like smoke and lingers there, forcing you to break apart its sharply drawn characters and daring inquiries into 21st century American suburbia.

For a film that is well over 2 hours in length, Little Children never collapse under the many characters, emotions, and themes it presents. Solid film; well acted. Good lead performances from Winslet (as usual) and Wilson, and some really good supporting roles for Jennifer Connelly and Jackie Earl Haley.

Little Children is a smart drama that presents the interrelationships of a host of broken people. The fractured characters allow for moments of beauty amid the frayed humanity and these moments are made more poignant by stellar acting from Winslet and Wilson. Jackie Earle Haley is insane in a career restarter as a penitent pedophile.

An absolute piece of trash. Never mind that ever single character in this film is a degenerate piece of garbage and the movie is often slow and self-important. What is truely disturbing is that one of the main points of this movie is that society is too mean to child molesters and sex offenders. Really?

Great drama that is smart and satirical in it's analyzation of adults that may still act like children once in a while. Jackie Haley's character turns out to be the most endearing, while teetering on the line of likability the whole time.

Rich, sharp, multi layered and sharply observational adaptation of Tom Perrottas novel. A brilliantly complex pseudo love story which interweaves between the life's of Suburbanites living out a mundane and highly flawed existence. A powerful and mature film with a first rate screenplay and acting that is off the scale, Little Children is one of the finest American kitchen sink dramas ever.

The standard style film with all the superficial people and there only way to "live" is to do things that go against the norm. I have seen this type of film one too many and the shallow people story gets a little too boring for me, just like Revolutionary Road and American Beauty. I do not think it is really bad but I personally am tired of this type of story. I am not from the suburbs myself but the hollow people story is just annoying. It comes off sometimes as we smart Hollywood people are actually living those people are nto, not so much in this movie but still it is apparent. It just comes off as smug.

I thought this was a terrific movie. It really makes you wonder about how we treat sex offenders.

What a terrifying premise for a movie: think about it... 1.] You have a misunderstood pedophile roaming your streets with a bunch of crazy right-wingers hoping to catch a bullseye on him. 2.] You have an affair going on based on the friendship of their children and 3.] It's called "Little Children." Kate Winslet is brilliant as always, as is Patrck Wilson. However, Jackie Earle Haley really draws attention at his breathtakingly ominous portrayal of a pedophile who doesn't mean to hurt anyone, but does simply because he possesses what every man has...
