Honestly one of the best films ever made, "Little Miss Sunshine" is a dark comedy unlike any dark comedy. It trusts the audience to believe that families are indeed as dysfunctional as they seem to be. Taking a positive, optimistic view towards suicide, cocaine abuse, beauty pageants, prejudice, and dysfunctional families in general, this movie changed my life. Highly HIGHLY recommended.

One of the cutest movies I've ever seen. Abigail Breslin charms you to death in this movie.

Brilliant. A movie that is really the whole package. A drama that is truly and consistently funny. I love laughing with the tears squeezing out of my eyes and that's what you get with Little Miss Sunshine. Steve Carell is brilliant as the suicidal uncle.

A bitter comedy of child vanity and family dysfunction told in a cynical fashion and featuring forced morbid and mockish humor; good supporting work by Abigail Breslin and Alan Arkin (who won an Oscar) lend it a little dignity. Final Grade: C

this movie is awesome! it not only keeps you laughing the whole way thru... but its touching in a way... a movie worth immediately buying instead of renting. youd be glad you did. each character brings something new to the table that just adds to the successof this film.

This film is so great. Majorly dysfunctional, this family keeps you entertained and engaged. The grandfather is hysterically inappropriate. Not for kids -- too much adult-themed conversation.

One of the most over-rated films of recent times. A decent cast make the best of the pre-packaged knowingly uber-indie "ain't I so kooky" script although the formulated contrivances of the film begin to grate quite quickly.... and there's far too much yellow. Subtelty doesn't appear to be Mr. Dayton's strong point. Not a terrible film by any stretch but certainly not the second coming as most people would have you believe.

Little Miss Sunshine cruises along, buoyed by a great cast whose characters form the most interesting dysfunctional family since The Royal Tenenbaums. It's a nuanced comedy; you won't laugh out loud much, but the characters make the film.

Well. Almost 9 years had pass now from American Beauty and from time to time comes films like this where directors, actors and writters try to portray to the american viewer (probably the not american too?) what's going (kind of) on with the domestic society. 9 years ago was nice and touching. But the thing goes down, or mediocre at its best. The movie is good, but nothing more. Steve Carell is fantastic along with the rest of the guys.

It's funny that no one seems to realize this is practically a remake of National Lampoon's Vacation, only with shallow "quirkiness" to appeal to the fake "indie" crowd.
