This remake seemed to better capture the spirit Nabokov much more genuinely than the 1962 version (which was darling, but just too sweet for Nabokov). The characters were brilliant, and the drama was on high. You can't deny the chemistry between the two leads, both give extraordinary performances that should have gotten much recognition. I adore this movie just as much or more than the book. The score, by Ennio Morricone, was one of the things that really made this film great.
