Sometimes movie needs no action, violence or big talk. Lost in translation may be different from many of my other favs, but I love it really much. It's beautiful, it's real. It's about how people are lost and how they want to be found. Tokyo is like an another universe to them, and when two strangers meet they feel something new. In my opinion Lost in Translation is utterly beautiful and wise movie.

Sophie here puts the pants and manage herself to deliver a really fantastic film. Great social touches about wha's going on today with middle age people, young ones, new global customs about interracial and cultural mixing. A veery clever, sweet and charming dialogue, and a fantastic ending. Can't miss this film if you want to see something different.

I loved this movie, sometimes it is nice to just watch a good story teller tell a story. Sofia Coppola directed this movie perfectly and makes you fall in love with characters. Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray have two fabulous performances. I highly recommend this movie to any one who loves great characters and a great story.

There are only two reasons to see this movie--1)you like Bill Murray, and 2)you get a kick out of how crazy Japan is. You have to really be into the complex character interaction between Johansson and Murray, otherwise you miss the point as I pretty much did. I gave it three though because I thought that cinematically, it was really well done and because I fall into both categories listed above.

Hmmm. Why is this good or even interesting? I guess maybe people look at some movies and try and relate the characters while I look at movies to look up to characters. I couldn't do either in this one. It is bad, but not recommended.

Sweet and melancholy - this story of strangers in a strange land finding a connection is so simple, yet brings out something that missing in so many films: emotion. It works on so many levels and never feels strained. Near flawless.
