This spy-comedy is not particuarly funny. But it does benefit from Tom Hanks in the lead. He's immediately likable to the audience. This movie actually takes too long to get going. Its sense of humor is odd. Like it wants to be a comedy but then at times it feels like a lightweight suspense yarn. Lori Singer is actually very good in this though.

I have no idea whether this is supposed to be a comedy or a thriller. But it works as neither, so who cares?

The Man With the One Red Shoe is an offbeat comedy whose genuinely funny moments provided enough charm to allow me to overlook some of its flaws - namely a somewhat directionless script and a cast that doesn't come anywhere near living up to its full potential. Still, there were some parts of the movie I thought were hilarious, although I've always had a soft spot for these 80's comedies.

Hanks is charming in this mediocre comedy. Lori Singer is one of my least favorite actors and this movie might have been better with someone different. However, there are some good laughs. Carrie Fisher and Jim Belushi also give good performances.
