While this is easily written off as the backwards movie there is no denying it's genius and layered brilliance. The viewer will actually feel the frustration of the main character's lack of focus and non-ability to sustain memories. Add the archetype of repeatedly performing tasks with no idea why and one has the perfect evaluation of existential routine.

This is one you HAVE to watch again immediately. They way they film the story, playing on the hero's inability to form new long-term memory, you have to pay attention. Leaves you to determine the truth.

Its concept is great and it's screenplay is good but Memento is just one big experiment and once you get past that there's really no emotion or other exceptional features that make the movie worth while. It's interesting, that's it.

I not only highly anticipated it, but watched it four times in the theater. Very wonderfully done, this movie is pretty near the top of my list of favorites.

This film makes you wonder if you can trust your own memory. Christopher Nolan does an excellant job at trying to re-create Lenny's problem in the head of every one watching. And it works. I would suggest watching this movie a minimum of two times, but, the key is to get a hold of the DVD. The second disc of the special edition clears some things up.

Huh? It might take a run or two through the DVD, but this movie is totally worth the effort. Bold and brilliant, just watch it with someone smarter than you.

This movie was so over rated. Ok the only good thing about this movie, was the concept. Filming the movie backwards was a good concept, but when you get to cocky with ti it looks like crap. and that is exactally what happened here. this movie had bad acting and i like Guy Perice bad writing and don't get me started on the whole cinematography cause it was shit to hasnt Christoper Nolan ever heard of a steady cam well that's it i'm done with my rant maybe

How can we trust our own memory? It really happened what we think happened? Or actually things are so dark, so traumatic, that we chose to forget? Can we forget? Can we forgive? Do we want to? What's the line between what we think want, and what with think wish? Memorable acting, beautiful and opressive score and a mind blowing script. One of the best movies that america gave in the past 20 years.

Christopher Nolan is a genious! If you like this movie you will probably also like The Following. It is not quite this good, but it is still worth a watch. This is a great movie that keeps your mind involved through the whole movie.

It isn't every movie I watch that I can say, "Wow. I need to see that again." Memento is one of those movies you can watch over and over again and always find something new. An original concept - dark and grim - but wholly entertaining.
