Good god, this movie sucked. I had an aneurism just watching the first twenty minutes of it. Well, what can you expect from a movie that only took 2 weeks to film

Frank Darabont tops the disaster that was The Majestic with The Mist. Seriously, how can you get good material and good actors and mange to mess everything up. The "religious" character was a nut. Not for the religion but perhaps of the fact that she was schizophrenic. A nothing ending. Frank Darabont needs to point the finger at himself next time.

Familiar set-up gets good results when focusing on the human elements and dilemmas inside the grocery store, showing its monsters just enough and giving its ironic ending a disturbing spin; if it has a flaw, it's the insufficient explanation of the mist itself. At least there's plenty of dependable character actors to keep it lively amid the claustrophobic setting. Director Frank Darabont continues his streak and goes 3 for 3 in Stephen King adaptations, including The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption. Final Grade: B

King rarely translates well to film. This one is mediocre. I wish the monsters would go eat M. Night Shyamalan and his vegetarian apocalypse.

I went into this expecting a little more from Darabont than what I was getting. There are several weak points...for example, why does Thomas Jane's character completely forget the fact that his wife is out there alone? The dialogue is a little too t.v. movie. However, the unexpected ending makes up for the slow, lagging middle in which Marcia Gay Harden's character makes you want to punch something

This film made me angry... I spent the entire movie hating it, wishing it were done and then came the end; a very clever twist that almost made the entire thing worth while. I admit that the premis of the movie was very interresting and I had high hopes. The main problem was that it seemed to drag on and on in the middle. The shining moment is when the Jesus freak got hit in the head with a can of veggies... definitely well deserved and I couldn't help but laugh out loud! All in all, this film is worth seeing. It had a few laughs, some good scares and an excellently creepy ending.

Most horror films these days lack originality, suspense, and other elements that allow you to relate to the characters and what they are going through. The Mist surprised me by having all the right elements. The characters reactions to the events that unfolded were realistic and made the movie great. It was one of the best horror flicks I've seen in a long time. I highly recommend watching this movie in the theatre so you get the full experience.
