I saw this film after reading Robert McKee's Story, in which he described the plot in furious detail. He acted like this was the movie of a lifetime, but it deserves to be left in the eighties. I didn't buy Diane Keaton's complete change from being a Bible thumper to falling in love with a convict. It made no sense.

Leaden, weighty drama with laughable situations and characters; Diane Keaton belongs in a mental institution, but they allow her to hang out with murderers? Film eventually turns into a low-rent Bonnie & Clyde and the script sags into a lame thriller. Final Grade: C-
