Spielberg's most emotional gripping film since "Schindler's List."

Eric Bana is in top form as Avner, a young Mossad agent who is selected to head up a specialist team to eliminate the men responsible for the killing of the Israeli Olympic team in 1972 in this tautly directed thriller.

The film starts with a great opening replay of the incident at Munich. From there it becomes a revenge plot that involves a kill list of eleven targets all linked with the murders. The scenes involving the elimination of those targets are great. Well staged, paced, and full of tension. The rest of the story that fills in the gaps between the short set pieces is much less interesting. I had little-to-no investment with the main characters. Some dialogue did not work in it's attempt for deepness and there were many fake dramatic 'movie' moments that clashed with the realism of the violence. The constant back and forth of good to bad scenes made for a slightly tedious 2hr. 45min watch. Great directing lifts the underwhelming writing.

In a different film for Spielberg, Munich mostly avoids sensational acting sequences for a more intrigue-filled and foreboding plot. The film's themes of revenge and justice are occasionally forced down our throats by not-so-subtle juxtaposition (the sex scene, for instance) and symbolism, but the strong cast and the quieter moments of the film showcase Spielberg's ability to tell a good story visually.

This movie was very disappointing to me, I expected a lot more from this award winning Spielberg film. But I still enjoyed it very much. And I recommend that you see it.

I thought it was a good movie. It was a very moving movie, a time when alot of people remembered the munich tragedies. So, alot of people can related and remember where they were or what they were doing when this played out. Also, I never thought I would side with the assassins, but in this movie, I did. It made you explore your moral and ethical beliefs on what would you do in that situation, or even if you would support these assassins that killed the other assassins. I thought this was one of the better films that Eric Bana has been in, and defintely one of my favorite movies.

I was expecting a lot more from a Spielberg picture. The music was actually pretty good, but the rest of the movie lacked what I thought could have been a really good movie. I was expecting more of a catch me if you can type movie. So So.
