A overview of the life of Christy Brown. Christy was born a quadriplegic to a large, poor Irish family. He was believed to be mentally retarded for the first 10 years of his life, but thanks to a strong-willed mother and a dedicated teacher he becomes a celebrated writer, poet, and artist. This movie has outstanding acting by Daniel Day-Lewis and the rest of the cast.

What's great: moving family scenes (football and Mother) and the acting. What's disappointing: Brown's "growth"-yes, his achievements are admirable, but he seems to become more selfish and less kind
