Jared Hess's followup to 'Napoleon Dynamite' combines his signature quirky comedy style with the escentric performance of Jack Black, to create a more irreverent film. There is an almost continous stream of chuckles and a few hearty laughs. More appreciated on repeated viewings.

Similar to Napoleon Dynamite, a film with a heap of style and little substance. The jokes are hit and miss and Jack Black doing a bad Mexican accent gets old fast.

Sadly in my opinion, the best part of the movie was when the thunderstorm outside caused the power to go out for a good twenty minutes.

I may have cracked a smile here and there, but I never laughed, which is not a good thing when you're watching a comedy. Confusing dumb with funny does not a good movie make.

It's not as stupid as "Napoleon Dynamite" but it's still pretty darn stupid. The funniest bits were presented in the trailers and those are typically the worst because they hype up the movie. I rarely laughed while watching this picture but, I must admit, I did chuckle here and there. Believe it or not, I did enjoy some of the wrestling matches even though they were really corny. Jack Black is a funny guy; it's just that the script is really unfunny. There were a lot of slapstick jokes and I'm not exactly the biggest fan of that comedy subgenre. Just when I thought the movie was going to get better, it did not. It's a good thing I saw this movie in a good mood or else I would have written a harsher review.

This movie is amazing! I love it! This movie is like Napoleon Dynamite...you either love it or you hate it. Jack Black is one of my favorite actors. Hes just too funny. The movie itself sounds stupid...but the humor is funny. There are alot of laugh out loud moments. Since I am Hispanic (not Mexican) I found this movie very funny. I have found that non-Hispanics don't find it that funny. But if you love Jack Black and have a good sense of humor...I recommend it.

This movie looked pretty funny during it's previews but the truth is it wasn't funny at all. It is one of thoes movies that got turned off before it was finished. Two thumbs down for this dumb movie.
