Slobbish bachelor Walter Matthau is forced to set up house with prim, cleanliness obsessive Jack Lemmon in a classic comedy of manners featuring one of the all time great comic double acts.

This eponymous 'buddy movie' is fully deserving of its reputation. Lemmon and Matthau are perfect on-screen 'companions'.

The best line in this movie is when Walter Mathau says, "I'm thinking of becoming hysterical!" lol.

A good comedy involving to guys totally different from one another. There are many good scenes and there are both comical and serious scenes but they all keep a constant tone that is very good. Walter Matthau is great as Oscar and Lemmon is okay as Felix I would have to liked to see Art Carney as him but oh well. Anyways the only flaw with this film really is one scene where Felix makes a noise to clear is sinuses it is over the top and it is the only thing like that in the film.
