It's more than just scary; it's disturbing. It also packs an equally eerie soundtrack and one of the best endings in horror movie history.

Though not in the same league as such religious horror classics as 'The Exorcist' and 'Rosemary's Baby', 'The Omen' is still an above-average - even intermittently iconic - 70's supernatural thriller with a good script, some great deaths, the BEST score ever recorded for a motion picture, and performances that treat the material with the utmost sincerity (indeed, perhaps with too much sincerity at times).

A diplomat secretly exchanges his wife's stillborn child with an orphaned boy. As he grows up, disturbing signs and events lead him to believe this boy is the antichrist and needs to be killed. This movie was chilling and cold, the mystery in the movie was unexpected at times.

There's some cheesiness to this horror film (I particularly found the decapitation scene to be a little over-the-top), but there's also enough creepiness to make the film worth watching. It's not "jump out of your seat" scary most of the time, but it is generally unsettling.

Besides 'The Exorcist', this is one of the best uses of religious tones in a horror film. Surprising and scary.

Yeah, I guess we have the wrong trailer here partner. Anyway, this starts the strong series of the movies about the Anti Christ and the ominous sign 666. Theologians I think believe that it's Satan's desire to mimic God or be like God, but cannot and never can be God. God's numerology in the Bible is 7. Amazing how one can build a story around that and make millions in the box office. It's definitely spine tingling and seemingly apocalyptic in tone. But not quite. Good scare though.

When a movie can influence religion, you know it's good. For everyone who thinks 666 is the sign of the devil, it's actually the sign of clever marketing on The Omen's part. This is a classic horror film with gothic overtones and it's great
