A fitting final film for movie greats Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn, "On Golden Pond" is just lovely.

Just a great movie, with two of the silver screen's finest ever. I try to catch this one at least once a year!

These are some of the last great performances of both Hepburn and Fonda. The film is an often very funny (in a charming way) look at the process of growing older and also healing family conflicts. The ensemble cast is brilliant, but Fonda and Hepburn really shine.

Once you get past the somewhat disturbing permissiveness towards skinny dipping with strangers, and ignore Jane Fonda's schlocky performance, you see a sweet love story infused with great tenderness and vulnerability by 2 acting legends.

Isn't this the last movie of Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn? I think it was. What a great way to go out!

A cheesy sentimental film, that I suppose works in a cheesy sentimental sort of way, I guess. If you like a film like that I suppose you would like it. A problem comes from the drama between the daughter and father which has a tacked on feel and it does not work. The aging works partially as does the married couples interaction, but anything involving the daughter does not work. Oscar Win Best Actor Henry Fonda 3/5- Fonda gives a fine performance as Norman Thayer but not one of overt greatness. He is good enough and helps the film as much as he can. It is not his best work and it is not the best portrayal of an old man role like this but it is a good one.

This calls for a rewatch. It was my first Katharine Hepburn movie and I wasn't aware of her legacy. To me it was a bunch of old people, but still moderately enjoyable. As a 12 year old it was easy to see how overhyped this was, though.
