Simultaneously gritty but also heartwarming teen movie about a cadre of troubled youths that stick together through various situations in 1960s Oklahoma. The cast is full of rising stars and they're all pretty good. If there's any problem it's the ending. For some reason, it feels poorly edited compared to the pacing for the rest of the movie.

This film is iconic by being understated. Every performance comes from a real and genuine place and many now-famous actors are featured in some of their first film roles. The cinematography and directing are superb, but serve simply to accent the real star - the believable and moving acting and writing.

Lots of good actors, in younger form and a great director makes for a memorable film.

This movie features some of today's best and best looking actors at their hotness peaks. Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Leif Garrett, Emilio Estevez and many more give this movie depth, character and eye-candy. Additionally, it is a very relatable coming of age story set in the mid-1960s. Since this movie came out most of these guys have become very well regarded actors, however their youth occasionally shows through in this movie. More than anything though that adds to its charm. This is a very solid movie and I would recommend it.
