The outdated special effects are forgivable, but 1977's "Pete's Dragon" can't make up for ear-grating musical numbers and a story that can't match the whimsy of its premise.

I actually really enjoy this often forgotten blend of Disney animation and live action. It captures an odd sense of magic and coming-of-age and features a brilliant and beautiful score.

Another older Disney film to combine live action with animation. Not as fun as the others that have done the same.
