Stupendous duel of words and screenplay addiction! Cukor's comedies were never understood when they should've but now they are considered today as incredible pieces of laugh-out-loud entertainment. Great Hollywood stars also knew how to have a blast! 97/100

Another comedy/romance 'classic' status film. 'The Philadelphia Story' is one of the more entertaining and enjoyable of this variety, simply due to the writing and performers. The comically fast and sharp dialogue makes the experience most pleasing. Grant, Stewart and Hepburn are at their best. A very appealing trio all managing to charm in equal amounts. The play between the three and John Howard creates an interesting relationship dynamic that makes for an unpredictable outcome as to which man Hepburn will choose.

A really funny and sweet comedy that utilizes the comic talents of its cast. The script is, typical for a screwball-type comedy, very sharp and witty, but its the skill of the actors speaking the lines that elevates the material.

The Philadelphia Story is a great romantic comedy. The writing is witty and fun. You can really see how these movies are tapped (poorly) for modern romantic comedies. Hepburn and Grant have surprisingly good chemistry together. Also it is interesting to see Jimmy Stewart as a tabloid reporter. Definitely worth finding or watching on the TV when it comes on.

The first time I saw it, I don't know why, but I hated it. A rewatch (accidental) made me realize how good this movie is. I'm glad I caught it again. It's a great cast and a fun story!!

Another great Romanic comedy staring Grant and Stewart. It has some really solid moments with a pretty good script, which is often not pulled off much these days. For Rom Coms this a great one, if you can handle black and white.
