Uptight businessman Neal Page wants to get home for Thanksgiving, but when his flight is canceled due to bad weather, he is forced to procure other means of transportation and is joined by Del Griffith, a salesman with a big heart and even bigger mouth. This is the best Christmas movie I mean Steve martin and John candy was very enjoyable to watch.

I reckon this was the movie that inspired Due Date. Due being a more outrageous comedy, but when i first saw Due Date i thought if maybe the director was inspired by the odd couple travellng together, dont like each other at first and then eventually do ....... through a series of events that happen along the way.... This is a good comedy and moving too in parts

Planes, Trains, & Automobiles is one of the greatest buddy comedies ever made, a film that combines the wildness of John Candy with the tight-lipped straight man acting of Steve Martin. Buried behind Martin's infamous cursing scene, and some hilariously vulgar episodes is a movie with real heart and soul. It's a film I watch every Thanksgiving.

This movie is truly funny but they try to squeeze this dramatic sequence having to do with John Candy's situation in the story. They should have stuck with the comedy in this one. Overall a pretty good flick.

John Candy does a great job of portraying an obnoxious salesman with a big heart. Steve Martin is great as a tight *** attempting to get home by Thanksgiving. Funny and heartwarming as well.
