Historical liberties aside, Disney's first animated feature based on a real-life character has some wonderful animation, memorable songs, and an important message.

In reality this was the story of a young girl abducted by settlers and abused against her will. Of course Disney turned Pocahontas into a teenager and John Smith was this "Prince Charming" type, anyway, a lot of historians have issues with the film. It is an average entry in the Disney catalogue.

One great song and an interesting choice of animation. That's about all the positive I can give to this phoned in Disney flick.

The plot is pretty historically inaccurate and slow-paced, but the music is the real star of the show and I think some of Disney's best songs are featured in the film.

I know Disney likes to mess with history, but maybe they should have left well enough alone. As long as you aren't looking for a history lesson, I guess this is enjoyable enough. The songs and characters aren't outstanding, but Disney has produced worse.

Didn't care for this one. Story wasn't as good as others and the characters weren't as endearing.

The beginning of the end for Disney's animation studio. This was released the same year as Toy Story.
