Like the similarly supernatural Witches Of Eastwick and The Craft before it, this just doesn't work for me. Sandra Bullock is pleasant enough but the characters are stereotypes and the plot is contrived and forced. The colossal handicap of Nicole Kidman's presence doesn't help either.

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are witch sisters in New England from a long line of witches. They're cursed when it comes to love. The curse strikes and they have to make things right again. Well-made, well acted.

A very interesting, enticing scenario - two sisters raised by their aunts in the style that befits middle-aged witches - a great twist to the whole "witching" phenomena that occurred during the 90s.

Stockard Channing is awesome. But this movie, however, is not.

I didn't see it at first, but then when I finally did, I wasn't missing much. When the best thing about a film is the costumes, it's time to run (especially if it's not a period piece).
