Andie Walsh (Molly Ringwald) has eyes for the prominent Blane McDonough (Andrew McCarthy). Andie's friend Phil "Duckie" Dale (Jon Cryer) has a crush on her. The two argue since Duckie gives her advise. This cast was much better than Sixteen Candles, had better humor and screenplay. Its premise was more realistic and the performances were sincere. The picture also boasts one of the best soundtracks in its era. Pretty in Pink was effective in bringing in the laughs and drama.

Another good teen movie from John Hughes. I don't like it as much as his other teen films, but I do still enjoy it.

I much prefer Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles to Pretty in Pink. Can't put my finger on why this doesn't have the same impact, but it just doesn't. Still, should be watched by all fans of the 80s.

A funny 80s flick with great characters in Ducky (Jon Cryer) and Iona (Annie Potts). James Spader plays an excellent jerk -- you'll love to hate him. Great love story between the girl from the wrong side of the tracks and the boy from a rich family. The only thing that would have made it better is a different leading lady. I dislike Molly Ringwald but can look past her to enjoy the other great assets of this movie. This movie does have one of the best kisses of all time.

He's good. She's good. He's just Duckie. A girl from the wrong side of the tracks, a geeky new-waver who worships her, a rich High School Hunk who has her eye, and John Hughes Andie hangs around with Duckie who has a crush on her but she likes Blane the popular rich guy who likes her but can the two differnet wolds there from meet. A good ROMCOM movie of the 80s.
