The film adaptation of the musical adaptation of the original film. It's like a remake, but with song and dance. Same situations with slightly different jokes. The cast is good and it's entertaining at the least.

How bad was this remake? Let me count the ways!!! Nathan Lanes & Matthew Brodericks imitation or ripoff of Gene Wilders & Zero Mostels characters sucked,Way to much of a musical & I could go on & on & on.I could not sit through the whole thing & turned it off after 20-25 minutes. This remake cant even come close to Mel Brooks version.Skip this garbage & go see the original

Basically the same as the 1968 film classic with a slightly different cast and lacking the fresh and irreverent tone of the original. The only improvement may be that the musical sequences are directed with more visual flair, but the comedy feels a little stale.

This is perhaps the funniest and liveliest movie musical ever. I said it. Better than "Guys and Dolls," and even better than "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," this is an hysterical comedy based on the film of the same name. Broderick and Lane (as well as Gary Beach and Roger Bart) reprise their roles from the Tony award-winning Broadway musical and add to their cast Uma Thurman and Will Ferrell, much to the appeal of the film. Brilliantly funny and as lively as can be, this is classical musicals being brought back to life, baby!

Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick team up as the dysfunctional duo of broadway producers trying to make a flop, Leo and Max. Both characters do get a little creepy at times, especially Broderick in the first ten minutes. But the songs and supporting cast make this terrific. Will Ferrell as a Nazi scriptwriter on broadway is hillarious, as well as Uma Thurman as the co-star of the show. It can be awkward at times, but overall it is worth a watch for any fan of musicals.

I really did not enjoy this movie and I am glad it was just a renter and I didn't waste my money. I really like Matthew Broderick and he did a great job as this character but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I am glad I saw it as a movie before spending my money on Broadway tickets.
