Predictable with bland humor.

Actually was better than expected. Johnny Knoxville didn't do half bad, but dont expect him in top movie roles.

Knoxville is serviceable in the lead, but it's his supporting cast (actual handicapped individuals) that provide the best moments. Hit-and-miss jokes abound, with a mediocre story. Worth a watch if you're interested.

I can appreciate the inclusion of mentally handicapped actors into this film, but that doesn't change the fact that the premise is massively ridiculous and Johnny Knoxville's portrayal of a fake mentally handicapped character still comes off as a little offensive (and pretty annoying, too.)

I thought this movie was pretty funny. I especially liked the fact that the people who were actually mentally challenged were in on the joke and not the butt of the joke. That made it much better.

The Ringer is surprisingly better then i thought it would be, but not by much. With the farrelly brothers producing this film, i thought it be a film that made fun at mentally challenged people, but it's surprisingly sweet and warmhearted. Johnny Knoxville is likable and Katherine Heigl is charming, but Brian Cox steals the movie and single handedly provides the funniest scenes. I loved the message that this movie sent, but there aren't many laughs. It could have been funnier.

Surprisingly good-natured comedy that just doesn't have enough comic momentum to keep it going; stock romance, sleazeball boyfriend villainy and no criminal charages being pressed against the hero are a little too much to take, but some funny moments arise here and there even though it contains more pratfalls than any 6 Jerry Lewis movies. Final Grade: C+
