In Michael Moore's first and most colloquial film, the economic effects of the auto industry on a small town in Michigan are explored in an interesting and very human way. Moore leaves behind the scoffing sarcasm he would later display in more controversial films and, instead, simply tells an effective story from the heart.

I rather enjoyed this movie. It's a documentary that takes a principled position on a serious issue.

Michael Moore may be biased, but at least it's entertaining biased. There is a good message here, even if Moore lacquers it with a thick coat of healthy sarcasm and snarky remarks. I have no problem with Moore, so I love every minute of it.

i really admire director, writer, producer michael moore. is there anybody who is better in making controversial protest film documentaries? as with all michael moore's work, it has a little bit of humor, a little bit of drama, and of course a lot of sarcasm.

I don't know if he was planning to make a comedy, but I couldn't help but laugh throughout the film. Definatley Moore's best.

Although one of Moore's least successful (in both documentary accomplishment and money making accomplishment) it is his truest. He is fairly unbiased and is a very presentable, pleasant man (he is a lot thinner too). Good to learn from.
