One of the most powerful war films - from the opening punch in the gut of the D-Day landing to the journey to find one man amidst a fierce battle - it doesn't flinch from the realities of war.

The first scene is probably the best war scene I have ever seen. The plot, while thin, gets the job done and carries us through war, and how war is hell. A great movie that all should see!
