It's easy to scoff at Don Bluth as a Walt Disney wannabe, but if he ever made anything capable of rivaling the House of Mouse, it was "The Secret of NIMH."

An extremely dark and gripping story for children's film. I remember seeing this and being awed by how grave the situation seemed. A classic which needs to be recognized.

A dark, fascinating and richly animated fantasy adventure for both adults and kids. It weaves ideas of nature, science and the unknown into a harrowing story of bravery. An underrated classic.

A strong story line that mixes fantasy, action, and complex themes such as lab experiences performed on animals and even death, this movie fascinated me during my childhood due to its inovative animation techniques at that time and unforgettable characters. It is such a compelling beautiful dark movie, totally worth your time.

A terrific animated film by Don Bluth, no question it is his best work. It is an incredibly well voiced animated feature especially from Elizabeth Hartman in the lead role of Mrs. Brisby. The story is very interesting, that is both mysterious and incredibly fascinating. The music is very good and always fits the atmosphere incredibly well. The best part of this great animated film though is the animation itself. It is incredible looking simple incredible. The colors, the detail are truly great looking, everything is perfectly smooth, and perfect looking, it just is a tremendous film to watch. It is worth watching for the animation alone, but the story, voice are equally good.

A great children's movie that remains entertaining for adults. The story is great. Very exciting with lots of suspense. The characters are entertaining and really pull you in even though they are drawn.

One of my favorite non-Disney traditionally-animated films. It's a little darker than most Disney films, yet retains enough pleasantries to keep the kids happy.

A classic Bluth film. This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. It funny, dramatic, frightening and endearing. The animation is great. The story is more involved than many animated films but not too deep that most kids can't follow it. Fun for kids and adults.
