Action: 3/3 + Comedy: 1.5/2 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Plot: 1/1 + Music: 1/1 + Good vs. Evil: 1/1 + Special Effects: 0.5/1 = 9/10 or 90%. Andy Garcia gives an outstanding performance, the best of his career, and the supporting cast fills in more than nicely, particularly a wheel-chair bound Walken and the loveable yet crazy Treat Williams. One main gripe comes with the fact that you must commit to the dialogue otherwise the ending will leave you scratching your head to no avail. If you commit the crime/suspense development of this is tremendous, creative, and one of the best hidden gems out there.

Jimmy The Saint is an ex criminal who is dragged back into the life by wheelchair bound Christopher Walken, but when the job goes wrong he and his crew become the target of a contract killer. One of the many, many attempts to jump on the Tarantino band wagon from the mid nineties, Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead is one of the better copycats. Andy Garcia is maybe a little too smooth and suave to play a killer, but it has enough quirky characters and offbeat violence to entertain. The cast is excellent, particularly Christopher Lloyd as his leperous sidekick, Steve Buscemi as a nerdy hitman and especially Treat Williams as his psychotic muscle. The main problem is that it tries to keep one foot in the mainstream, with overly slick direction from hack Gary Fleder, a pointless love …

Underated Pulp Fiction Clone.

Of all of the "Pulp Fiction" rip-offs that came out in the mid 90s, this one is the best. Unlike most of the others, this really only dealt with one main story instead of trying to intertwine several stories like "Pulp" and failing horribly. This one is like "Pulp" in flavor, not through story telling gymnastics. It is a good solid story about good solid characters. Andy Garcia is great. Why is this guy not in more leading roles? Steve Buscemi is great as always. (Christopher Walken... 'nuff said!) Great ending for a character doomed by his bumbling idiot friends. I personally would have done something a bit different with the title. I like the idea, but it is too "clunky" (a line used in the movie). I think simply "Dead in Denver" or even "Denver When You're Dead" Anyway, my crappy …
