Except for its atmosphere, nothing about this movie feels genuine. "Tombstone" boasts underwhelming performances and bland dialogue.

Although not a historically accurate or particularly serious portrayal of the Wyatt Earp tale, Tombstone is one of the more fun Westerns. With some great lines, some funny moments, and some exciting shootout action scenes, it doesn't cease to entertain.

A lot of people like this western, but for me it was simply adequate. It moved a bit slow for my personal tastes and while the story and casting were good, it also didn't knock me out. Fans of westerns will get the most out of this - but for me, just didn't click.

"Tombstone" by Yojimbo

Hollywood once again retells the story of the legendary lawman, this time in the guise of Kurt Russell. Add Val Kilmer, Sam Neill, and Bill Paxton into the mix and what you get doesn't exactly scream "A list" but what you do have is an ensemble cast that gels particularly well; this is one of those films that manages to be more than the sum of its parts. The bond of brotherhood and friendship between the Earps and Doc Holliday feels genuine and Kilmer clearly relishes the scene stealing part of sickly gentleman adrenaline junkie Holliday. Powers Booth and Michael Biehn also make charismatic villains, the scenes between Biehn and Kilmer being particularly sharp and the Peckinpahesque shoot outs extremely well staged. In fact the shoot out at the OK corral is one of the best versions yet …

Tombstone is a 1993 Western movie written by Kevin Jarre and directed by its star Kurt Russell. The film, which boasts an ensemble cast, involves Wyatt Earp and his brothers moving to Tombstone, Arizona where they and Doc Holliday face off against a band of criminals called the Cowboys. The movie is loosely based on historic incidents occurring in 1881-1882.Tombstone is a thrill ride with feeling, a good enough script, inspiring music and one of the best casts ever assembled in motion pictures. Kurt Russell plays the sensitive Wyatt Earp. Val Kilmer is the movie's life force with a snitty peformance as the homicidal Doc Holliday. The rest of the cast is deep, with even the bit roles manned by people like Billy Zane, Thomas Haden Church, Michael Rooker and Jason Priestley. Sam Elliott is …

#18 is at the OK Corral..........

This is not just another adaptation of the infamous gunfight that took place at the OK Corral featuring the likes of Wyatt Earp and his brothers along with Doc Holiday but rather an extremely entertaining version that makes it one of the best western films of the last quarter century. An All-Star cast led by Kurt Russell who plays the tough as nails lawman Earp and Val Kilmer who really shines as the very ill yet deadly gun slinging Holiday; this old west action adventure has you wanting more even at the pictures' end. Sam Elliott, who fits this genre like no other and Bill Paxton both turn in solid roles as the two Earp brothers that Wyatt convinces to join him with their families to start anew in the prospering town of Tombstone. Almost immediately there is trouble due to the criminal …
