now I know Barbra Streisand is not everyone's favorite, but give her props she did direct and star in this movie which was nominated for best picture at the academy awards that year. I will admit I grew up with this movie, so my opinion is colored by nostalgia. I believe this is a good movie worth watching at least once in your life. It's really just the story of a girl trying to get an education any way she can, unfortunately that meant she had to disguise herself as a boy. If you can get over any Streisand prejudice you may harbor I think you'll find this a worthwhile film.
