A very cute and witty movie. A woman who was the bridesmaid for all her friends but never had her own happy ending. She kept all the dresses. Her sister was marrying the man she thought she loved but she ends up seeing that there was a man right below her nose.

This is definitely a chick movie. This is something you watch when you're flipping through channels and just happen to land on it. There's nothing spectacular about it. Like almost all romantic comedies, it's very predictable. But, if you just want something fun and sill then this is for you.

Katherine Heigl is the only thing keeping this movie alive, or should I say on life support. It's bland, predictable and overachieving. You can't get more stereotypical romantic comedy than this, I could only recommend this to people who don't care much for thinking. It's like a slug on your front porch, not horrible not really doing anything, it's just there and if you get bored enough you can stare at it for a little while.

27 Dresses - Minor Spoilers

A comedy that started out strong, but went downhill after imitating Shop Around the Corner. Also I could see traces of Aline Brosh McKenna's other script The Devil Wears Prada (it's set in NY, it's fashion conscious, and she doesn't see that the love of her life is right in front of her life.
I cringed while watching it, knowing that all romantic comedies are the same. This one is a little bit different. After all, how can you save a movie where the sisters are in love with the same man? It just isn't going to happen. It's going to be WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, A.B. McKenna saved herself best she could. There was good acting from Katherine Heigl. But being beautiful comes so naturally, that it is tough to play the dowdy sister, unless she is being played by the under-appreciated …

It Has Its Moments

Even though it's another light romantic comedy, I really enjoyed it. I guess I have a soft spot for the genre. I don't like Katherine Heigl that much because I think she plays pretty much the same character in everything, but there's something about her character this time around that made me look at her in a different light. James Marsden is excellent as the unexpected prince charming and it was fun just watching him. I've been seeing him in comedy these last couple of years and I want to see him in edgier films. But the person that made this film that much funnier is Judy Greer. That lady deserves a leading role already. Every remark and mannerism she had was absolutely hilarious. She reminded me so much of me and my friends so I couldn't help but let out a smile. Overall, this is an …

Review - 27 Dresses (2008)

Never before in the history of film has a movie like this been seen. And by that I mean that this specific plot with these specific actors has never been done before. In general, "27 Dresses" is yet another sloppily written, poorly acted chick flick that came out in January for a reason.
So here we have Katherine Heigl as Jane Nichols, a woman who has been a bridesmaid for twenty-seven separate weddings, but when she finally finds somebody that she wants to make her a full-fledged bride, she has to deal with the unbearable truth that her sister Tess (Malin Akerman) is dating him. During this whole fiasco, Jane is half-stalked by a journalist, Kevin Doyle (James Marsden), who's fascinated by her history with weddings.
Where do I begin? There were so many aspects of this film that …

What did I not like about, the acting, the directing, the writing, pretty much all the things you need to make a good movie. Don;t get me wrong there were people who liked it, as seen by the fact it won this award and every one is entitled to their own opinion I just didn't like it. I know I love some rally bad movies as well. :o)
