A cynical look at how no matter how much integrity a leader has, they can turn corrupt. "All the King's Men" is probably the most politically toxic film to take home Best Picture.

Prescient thriller about a power hungry politician who rallies the masses and leaves a trail of corruption in his wake. Sound familiar?

It seems the Academy used to have much better taste. This film is undeniably astute and uncannily ahead of it's time in the portrayal of the slick corruption of power.
