Cheesy showcase for Ray Harryhausen's stop motion effects which were looking well past their sell-by date even then, bolstered by an all-star supporting cast. Unfortunately Harry Hamlin as the square-jawed hero is ill-equipped to match their thespian expertise and the mechanical owl's comic relief is just plain irritating. This is no Jason and the Argonauts.

Outdated and cheesy, but still retains some fun. It's a classic mythology tale and good adventure film.
