R.I.P. Roger Corman, a master of making a lot with a little. Not my favorite of his Poe adaptations, but a definitive one full of chilly gothic atmosphere.

Roger Corman's period piece, based off the Edgar Allen Poe story, boasts great atmosphere and a solid performance by Vincent Price. It's more of a dram than a true horror film though.

An admirable adaptation of the classic Poe story. Corman nails the look and tone. It's a horror film effectively built on intrigue and subtle tension. There is a visually fantastic dream sequence, as well.
