Altogether, it feels like you're watching an artifact-"Did people ever behave that way?" I'm not saying Sidney Poitier doesn't deserve an Oscar-the man is class defined. But the spontaneous singing and hyper English lessons just seem more than a little disconnected from his character. It is a nice family film, but a little too simple for most adults.

Just a small little film that tells a small little story. It tells a simple story of Nuns who get a man to build a chapel for them. It makes for a fun movie that is funny and very charming all the way. The interactions between Poitier and Lilia Skala are Brilliant. A spiritual film in a nice way that never feels over done or annoying as it can come off in some films. This is a good film with a good message and great performances from Sidney Poitier and Lilia Skala.
