The persevering teacher and student story of 2 of the most inspiring young women in history. "The Miracle Worker" is known to most, but isn't fully appreciated until it has been seen.

Great drama about how Helen Keller and her stalwart teacher (Bancroft) overcame her debilitating condition. As Annie Sullivan, Anne Bancroft is easy to identify with as she is given a monumental task and it can overwhelm her and her ward at any moment. Often emotional and well directed, both the movie and the real-life story that inspired it are proof of the unyielding power of perseverance against the limitations of the human condition.
