Stephane, a young guy with confused and colourful mind, are dizzied when his dream world get into his real shy life. A sweet comedy about his connection with people around him and his deep desires showed in clear dreams, concious about his emotions but without idea the reason of them, He create a peaceful and loved world to live with his girl, who we can see She is real, but inside Stephane's eyes, we are not sure how he really knows her.

I was really expecting this movie to be terrific. And, in some ways it was. But, in most ways it was just a little bit too ridiculous for me.

This film, as is the case with all Gondry works to date, is absolute charm and artistic-one-of-a-kind-gorgeousness.
The Science of Sleep is the first film to creatively capture my own foolish, over-romanticized ideas of love and relationships. It is almost painfully relatable at times, and the strikingly realistic acting makes such moments of beautiful reality that much more embarrassing.
Having been a huge fan of Bernal & Gainsbourg already, my devotion was further solidified after seeing them act in such an artistic project. Bernal in particular, displaying such vulnerability yet somehow maintaining a subtle dignity as Stephane, must have been a challenge. (Not that he was the first, but under such a modern, unique directing style, he deserves credit - what an excellent choice …

The brain it is actually the most misterious, fantastic and perfect thing in the universe. We barely use it, scientists barely understand it. And the brain, is the guilty of creating one of the most fascinating subjects: The Dreams.
Gondry really loves all this, and builds a great movie. A great movie for those that have dreams while they're sleeping, or awake. Sometimes you can't tell the difference. It has a very simply, and yet effective, love story and a pretty nice french (not hot at all to my taste) lady, that's exactly that french: pretentious and sophisticated - in opposite to her boobs ;0) -.
The movie has great visuals and memorable and hilarious lines. Michael Gondry is to me, one of my favorite directors now. Keep them comming, sir. I honestly took this one at the store, …
