Period thriller about a young woman whose brother goes missing at the 1889 Paris Exhibition and no one believes her. Jean Simmons plays the part of a sibling turned sleuth well enough. The plot has a lot Hitchcockian elements that on their own are intriguing though it is not quite as exciting as it wants to be. But it remains interesting enough.

cool movie I saw on TCM. I had never heard of it, but it was very cool. Jean Simmons is just so sweet and vulnerable. You feel so sorry for her being caught up in this mystery. Nice amount of suspense, did not see the end coming at all. Black and white, filmed in Paris. Definitely worth the trouble to find.
