As long as you can look past the cheesy dialogue and acting, "Tenebrae" is an intriguing and artful slasher film.

Though not as great as some of Argento's other works, such as Suspiria and Opera, Tenebre was still a pleasure to watch. The mystery really sucks you in. And of course, the kills are pure beauty, something that Argento rarely fails to deliver. There are a few plot problems and I was slightly disappointed towards the end of the film. All in all, this was a solid Italian horror/giallo film. Make sure to pick up the Anchor Bay edition of Tenebre, as it is uncut and mastered wonderfully.

Though not as groundbreaking as Suspiria, Dario Argento still has the giallo magic down pat. There's plenty of death scenes, but it leaves you wondering who the killer is, and even if you've guessed, it's nice to see how it plays out.
