I really liked this movie for what it is. Bruce Lee is incredible. I am not sure what influence he had on the direction or the choreography, but it is simply amazing for the time. Also, despite its age, it is a pretty good action movie. Watch it with sub titles and in one of the Chinese languages. Much better that way.

"Mother told me not to get into trouble." Who would have thought Bruce Lee flicks aren't dark? Try viewing his and would witness a man being tempted to drink, prostitution, drugs and even an innocent kid getting murdered. This picture proves that if you can act and fight well (4 kick combos, flying kick, etc), you can be a global star. Plot is simplistic, Chen moves to another country and gets promoted. No patented videogamelike sound with the "whoooaaa" or usage nunchucks. Plain kick ass revenge film which showcases his potential. One of this critics favorite action films since it was simple yet powerful in its own way. Without this …

So when I tell you that the basic premise for this story is a promise Bruce made to his mother NOT to fight, can you see the flaw in whole concept?! Of course he finally is "forced" to fight, but Destry Rides Again it ain't. When Bruce finally gets his freak on, he is as magnificent as always but you have to wade through a hell of a lot of cornball and inept movie making to get there, including sound effects that sound like someone playing squash with a cricket bat in a bowling alley every time fist meets flesh and a soundtrack like something out of a 70s game show. Unless you are a fan of "kitsch" (ie watching …
