I didn't think any film could do justice to Elizabeth Wurtzel's autobiography. I was wrong. This film is incredible and captures the essence of the books almost perfectly. Christina Ricci really shows what she can do, in fact, it's almost impossible to separate the portrayed Wurtzel from the original. A lovely film. I think it could be redone into a longer, darker version, but Christina Ricci would have to be re-cast.

Since it took so long for this film to finally be released from the time of its initial filming, it shows some dust in the slower sections of the film, as well as some possible editing incongruencies. What remains intact, however, is a fearless performance by Ricci and the film's razor-sharp dark wit.

Cristine Ricci was mesmerizing while Jessica Lange endearing. Definitely the the mother-daughter relationship onscreen really carried the film, top notch authentic acting was in full display. Soundtrack was superb and Michelle Williams did a solid job in a supporting role. Camera shots were technical …
