An inspired and atmospherically vivid underdog story, and Eminem's unprecedented but laudable performance adds to the movies genuine feel.

Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith, Jr. (Eminem) at a local rap battle emceed byhis friend David "Future" Porter (Mekhi Phifer). The well casted drama was effective. Its director did a splendid job with the pace of the film and the music speaks for itself. Eminem was authentic in his performance considering the talents he was surrounded with. The semi-autobiographical of Eminem was entertaining, nothing groundbreaking but a treat to watch. 8 Mile has topics of friendship, maturity, believing in yourself and dreams. 8 Mile is worth a look for film fanatics who enjoy music, drama and underdogs.
