Fans of Mel Brooks' parody films will feel right at home. Writing, directing, and starring in the film, Wilder does a great job all around and crafts a pleasantly goofy parody that would make most anyone laugh.

Hard to believe, when you watch this film and laugh yourself stupid at the gentle ridiculousness on display, one would think that this is a Mel Brooks movie. But no, it's Gene Wilder showing us just how much he has learned from the comedy master. The major Brooks players are here: Wilder, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn. The movie is very funny, and shows that Gene Wilder is just as good at directing as he is at acting.
