Joan (Maria Falconetti) is on trial and claims to be on a mission by God to drive the English from France. Performance from Falconetti was authentic and score wonderful. Pace was not that enticing and backdrop not as impressive. Camera direction was superb with close-ups and overhead shots. Topics on morality and religion were exemplefied. Passion of Joan of Arc, The (passion de Jeanne d'Arc, La) is a descent look at one of the influentual films based on acting and direction.

An emotionally-wrenching drama that is marked by the director's choice of shooting the most intense dramatic scenes in close-up. A masterful tale of dedication that still holds up today.

I really love Joan of Arc but Renee Maria Falconetti freaks me out. I really cannot stand this version of Joan of Arc. Dreyer has much better movies.

La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc is a classic and a cinematographic legend in absolutely every single aspect. It represents the maximum capacity of perfection that the Seventh Art can really reach. It is not only one of the best movies of all time, …
