This movie is a prequel to the Underworld films, showing the relationship or the aristocratic vampires, the Death Dealers, and their Lycan slaves. A young Lycan will rally his werewolf kin and strike back against their cruel masters. This movie was a good prequel in my opinion, The gore worked in some sense and the end battle was epic.

Tired prequel to the underworld series. Knowing what's going to happen doesn't make this any better. A bunch of hack n slash vampire vs. werewolf fights does not a movie make.

i was glad when this movie was finally over. this is the worst in the underworld series. the two main actors were awful, very unlikeable and lacks charisma. the first half of the movie was dull and they should have compacted it into a five-to-ten-minute intro. i love bill nighy but victor should be played by some younger and stronger actor. we don't want to see the most powerful vampire this fragile, do we?

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the third installment of films in the Underworld series. It is a prequel set prior to 'Underworld' and 'Underworld: Evolution'. The prequel traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the vampires and the Lycans, "werewolves". A young Lycan named Lucian(Michael Sheen)emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighty) the vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian has a Lucian relationship with Viktor's daughter Sonja (Rhona Mitra), they join together to rally his fellow Lycans into freedom.
I must admit that Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans is not a bad movie, for anyone who has seen the first to movies this movie is just a extended look at the franchise's oh-so detailed mythology, a more …

The epic battle between Werewolves and Vampires are brought to life yet once again in this supposed prequel to the Underworld movies. First of all I really thought we had seen enough Underworld movies when Evolution came out. But then here we are again with the sequels or rather prequel I mean. Then to my surprise after seeing it I said to myself, that wasn’t so bad. And when things aren’t that bad it simply means they’re good or half good for that matter. The first Underworld featured a more ground breaking CG palette with Len Wiseman putting his vision to film. Now with a different director and a different take on the visuals it seemed that this prequel only used a mere average CG effects instead of the more advance one. But even though the visual spectacles were weak the …
