Charlton Heston slums it as a poacher in this wilderness nonsense that sees a pair of American brats climb up and down mountainsides in between bouts of utterly contrived "suspense". They are helped along the way by a friendly polar bear, which are always handy to have around. If they fell in the sea, I presume they'd be saved by a shark who does some volunteer work for the samaritans on the side. Or a box jellyfish with a heart of gold...

Alaska tells the story of a father, Jake (Dirk Benedict), who crashes in the mountain and his two kids brave the dangerous terrain to go in search of him. Sadly the kids have no real outdoorsman skills or knowledge but with luck and determination they rally along. Along the way they rescue a bear cub from evil poachers. The late Charles Heston himself portrays the villainous poacher. Cheesy family flick but it’s got great scenery of Alaska and beautiful polar bears.

Unrealistic adventure film. Something kids might enjoy.
